Jonathan marks 5 years in office with petition to God




President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday denoted five years since he assumed control over the mantle of the country's initiative.

Jonathan was on May 6, 2010, initiated as the President by the then Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu, taking after the demise on May 5, 2010 of President Umaru Yar'Adua, who he served for a long time as Vice President before his passing.

The country's constitution prescribes that the Vice President naturally assumes control upon the
passing of the President.

In the wake of finishing Yar'Adua's residency, Jonathan challenged and won the 2011 presidential decision yet lost his re-race offer in the 2015 decision.

The President however denoted the fifth commemoration of his Presidency in a serene.
